ASTM A106 seamless pressure pipes (also known as ASME SA106 pipes) are commonly used in the construction of oil and gas refineries, power plants, petrochemical plants, boilers and ships. These pipes must carry fluids that exhibit higher temperature and pressure levels And gas.
ASTM A106 Gr.B is an American brand, and A106 Gr.B has no corresponding brand in China. The chemical composition of A 106Gr.B is as follows:

8. Mechanical properties: ób≥415／MPa , ós≥240／MPa.
The chemical composition of the material does not correspond to Chinese materials, and the mechanical properties are similar to Chinese (GB/T699) 20# steel. ASTM is a set of American steel pipe standards. ASTM steel pipe A106 A corresponds to the Chinese standard is GB8163 and the material is 10# steel. A106 B corresponds to the Chinese standard. The GB8163 material is 20#, and A106 Gr.B does not correspond to Chinese materials.
Our inspection of steel pipes generally includes: inspection of geometric size and surface quality: inspection of chemical composition, mechanical properties, technological properties, inspection of high-low tissue: non-destructive testing: inspection of some special properties and length measurement and weighing.
(1) Check the geometric size of the steel pipe
The outer diameter, wall thickness, bending degree and length of the steel pipe are checked on the inspection table with external calipers, micrometers, bending degree and length winding.
Sometimes, the outer diameter, wall thickness and length are also continuously tested by automatic size detection devices (such as automatic diameter measurement, thickness measurement, length measurement devices). For OCTG steel pipe also need to check the thread parameters.
(2) Check the inner and outer surfaces of the steel pipe
We generally use visual inspection for internal and external surface inspection, and in addition to visual inspection, the internal surface is also inspected by reflection prism. Some special purpose steel pipes also require non-destructive testing, including eddy current, magnetic leakage, ultrasonic, magnetic particle testing, etc., to check the quality of the inner and outer surface of the steel pipe.
(3) Mechanical properties and process performance inspection
In order to verify that the mechanical properties of the steel pipe meet the requirements of the standard, we need to conduct mechanical properties inspection on the steel pipe sampling.
The test of mechanical properties mainly includes tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, impact work, etc. The process performance test mainly includes flattening test, flaring test, water pressure test, flange test, cold bending test, perforating test and so on. These inspection items are selected according to the different standards and the difference in the use of the steel pipe.
(4) Non-destructive inspection

Material introduction
